Early Childhood Transition

This week, I was approached by my principal to possibly teach first grade next school year.  I have taught Pre-K on and off for almost 10 years.  I dont mind making the transition to teaching first grade.  If you have any transition tips, please pass them along.

Amanda, congratulations on your promotion. I'm sure that all of the resources that have been made available to you through our week's studies have helped to enhance your skills for the tasks ahead. The only tip that I would share would be to always remember to maintain a "learning stance" in your teaching environment--be open to receive as well as give. (Patton, 2011). I believe that learning should be a two-way street between student and instructor--always evolving to a higher level of understanding. I wish you well in your teaching endeavors.
